The Zorn palette is named after the proficient painter, Anders Zorn. The Swedish artist worked in the late 19th/ early 20th century and is known for creating complex compositions often with just three colors plus white. We'll begin this three hour workshop with a demo in which I'll paint from the clothed model with the Zorn palette. We'll be using a particular lighting setup that Zorn often utilized in his own work. We will discuss the technique and I will present examples of the Zorn palette both by the Swedish painter and others. After the demo and discussion, the students will paint a portrait from the model using the limited palette. A supply list will be provided.
